Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Builder to join our professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a variety of general building tasks not limited to; roof work to the repair and maintenance of wooden structures and fittings, first fix and 2nd fix carpentry, brick /block work, Lime pointing, Lime plastering. helping out with all other general building duties when required. This role requires technical proficiency, strong attention to detail, and the ability to deliver work to the highest standards within agreed timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and finish wood and other materials with precision.
  • Brick/block work, lime plastering/pointing. Roofing.
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance on existing structures.
  • General Building duties to include but not limited to: 1st fix, insulation, 2nd fix, screeding.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces to a professional standard.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a General builder preferably within a commercial or professional setting.
  • Strong knowledge of general building techniques, materials, and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Relevant qualifications or completion of a recognised apprenticeship in Construction (desirable).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a professional environment.
  • Full UK driving licence (advantageous).
